Below are some of the best camps for keeping children engaged and entertained during the long summer months.
Nature and Science Camps
Marin County is home to some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world. These beautiful vistas also offer children the perfect opportunity to discover more about nature and science while also letting them have so much fun, they forget they are learning.
Nature Bridge partners with the National Park Service to offer unforgettable learning adventures in the Marin Headlands. This day camp teaches children about the natural world and helps them explore the unique beauty of the coast. Some of the camp highlights include seeing tide pool creatures up close, conducting field sketches while overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, and hiking up to the Point Bonita Lighthouse.
A Marin County tradition for over thirty years, Angel Island Day Camp lets campers experience the stunning island while learning about its history and its unique ecosystem. The children start and end each day with a ferry ride. During the day campers play games, make crafts, hike, and tour different parts of the island. No two days are ever the same and many campers come back year after year.
Sports Camps
Summer is a great time to be outside, but not everyone wants to be hiking through the woods. The Marin area also hosts a bevy of sports camps for children of all ages and skill levels. No matter if your child is looking to hone his or her skills or is interested in learning a new sport, there is a camp for them.
This new and unique camp will get your kids running and will be the highlight of their summer. Marin Blaster Camp organizes a variety of different Nerf blaster games and battles for kids. The camp takes safety and fun very seriously. Children are grouped by age and ability. Adults closely supervise all games.
Throughout the summer the Belvedere Tennis club offers different themed weeklong camps. These camps offer tennis and swimming lessons, as well as trips to interesting area attractions. Space is limited to make sure every child gets the attention he or she needs and to make sure every camper spends their time having fun and not just waiting for their turn.
